When I was in grade 12, I decided to cut off 30+ cm of hair. At that time, I didn’t regret any of this. Here I am 2 years later wanting long hair! I decided to google some remedies and I thought this is the perfect time to start using them to have long hair for SUMMER!

Here are some tips to try out:

1. Stay away from daily shampoo:
Washing your hair daily prevents the natural oils in your hair to fulfill their purpose. The natural oil in your hair penetrates the air allowing it to hydrate itself. Remember the purpose of shampoo is to wash away dirt and build up product NOT to wash away natural oils!

2. Make use of a conditioner:
Why you may ask. This isn’t even a question. JUST DO IT! Using conditioner helps ensure that the cuticle lays smooth on the surface. This helps to prevent any tangles and helps to release tangles easily.

3. Massage your head regularly:
Take it upon yourself and give yourself a head massage once in a while. This improves blood circulation. There has also been said that lavender helps reduce hair growth (if this is true let me know).

4. Finish with a cold shower:
I know this is not an easy task, especially in the winter. Warm water causes dry and rough hair. The cold water helps to seal the cuticles and keep its strength. A cold shower isn’t only good for your hair but your skin as well! Doing this helps to maintain healthy hair and healthy skin!

5. Gently dry hair:
Make use of a gentle towel. Pat your hair and don’t rub, by patting your hair dry it minimizes the changes of causing breakage.

Recipes:
According to GlowPink author, Varnika Chauhan these are the recipes to use for exhilarating hair growth:

Deep Conditioning:
This is an avocado mask used for deep conditioning your hair.
Ingredients:
0.5 Cup of flaxseed gel
0.5 Cup of coconut oil
1 Avocado
Blend all 3 ingredients (with a blender of course), apply the combination on your hair and leave in for about 30 minutes. Take a shower and rinse off with plain water. Wash your hair as you normally do. Make sure to do this once a week.

Hair Mask:
Ingredients:
One egg
1 cup of curd
6 tablespoons Olive oil
Take the egg and whisk it well. Mix all ingredients well to form a paste. Apply the paste on WET hair and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse with plain water and wash your hair as normal (shampoo and CONDITIONER). You can also apply this remedy once a week.
