Breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day. You can not simply start your day without eating breakfast first. Breakfast helps to get your body started, it’s like the petrol for your body. You need it.

Know why breakfast is this important?

Gives you energy:

The body’s energy source is glucose. Did you know men require more energy than woman? This explains why they eat so much. Glucose is broken down and is absorbed by the carbs you eat. When you go 12 hours without eating your body naturally breaks down fatty acids to produce the energy it needs, but without food this doesn’t work and it only reduces your energy.

You need those minerals and vitamins:

Food contains the vitamins you need to survive such as iron, Vitamin B, fibre, calcium etc. During breakfast you take in a lot of those vitamins to help your body function. Make sure you eat food that contains a high Vitamin intake.

Breakfast boosts your brainpower

Have you ever been so hungry that you cannot think straight? My point exactly. Your brain needs food to operate fully. Eating breakfast helps to start up your brain. Try it next time and you will see how focused you are.

Breakfast is there to help you control your weight:

When eating breakfast, it helps control your appetite, breakfast gets your metabolism going and it helps to prevent you becoming really hungry and over eating.

 

Here are some recipes for you to try:

 

1. A smoothie

Smoothies are awesome especially during summer time. This recipe I tried from a Love and lemons and it is absolutely amazing! You only need 6 ingredients!

1. 1 frozen banana

2. 1 tablespoon almond butter

3. 2-4 tablespoons concentrated cold brew coffee

4. 4 ice cubes

5. ¾ cup of almond milk

6. 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Now add all those ingredients in a blender and blend away. Now enjoy your breakfast and start your day right.

2. Tomato toast with some cream cheese.

This is my favourite breakfast – it is plain, simple and delicious! I would definitely recommend this to anyone. It is so easy and timeless to make.

– Just put 2 slices of bread in the toaster.

– slice up 2 tomatoes

– When the toast is done, spread a layer of cream cheese as a base

– place your tomatoes onto this, with some salt and pepper.

– You are more than welcome to add some basil or rocket with a red onion.

3. A breakfast burrito

I never personally tried this because it takes some time to make BUT it looks magnificent! This is basically the perfect breakfast.

You can put anything you like into this wrap. This is my father’s favourite recipe:

– Avocado

– Scrambled eggs

– Some potato tots (the smaller the better)

– Bacon bites

– Red onions

– Tomatoes

– Red bell pepper

4. A classic French toast

French toast is always a winner. And yet is so easy to make!

You will need the following:

1. Bread

2. Eggs

3. Syrup or honey

Directions:

Slice your bread up in the pieces you wish to have. Whisk the egg and dip the bread into it. Then fry it in a pan as if you would bake flapjacks. Now just pour some honey or syrup over and enjoy your meal.

OPTIONAL: You can add some berries if you want to.

5. An omelette

An omelette is an easy breakfast to make and usually it does not take a lot of ingredients. During my period at home we used to make this almost every day! All you’ll need is:

– Eggs

– Bacon

– Tomatoes

– Cheese

– Chives

– Salt and Pepper

Just whisk your eggs together, and pour some in the pan as if you are making a pancake. Wait 3 minutes then add all your toppings to the one half of the omelette. Wait another 5 minutes and fold the side without the toppings over the side with the toppings. And there you go – a nice omelette for breakfast.
