There are a lot of different brushes to choose from when you do your makeup. When I started doing makeup, I only had 4 brushes (the basics). Over the years I learned that there is a brush for every technique you can imagine!

Here are a few types of brushes every girl need:

1. A foundation brush – When I started doing makeup, I used my fingers to apply the foundation to my skin. This is a terrible habit! There is an enormous difference between applying your foundation with your fingers VS using a brush. Using a makeup brush helps give you that FLAWLESS look and prevent those oils and bacteria on your fingers to clog your pores.

2. Concealer Brush – A concealer brush is used for concealer in small difficult to reach areas. You can use a concealer brush to cut your crease and for perfect definition.

3. Angled Blush Brush – The angled blush brush is used for more precise shading. This brush can also be used to apply bronzer and highlighter! The angled blush brush makes it easier to apply products perfectly to your cheekbones. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BRUSH!

4. Contour brush – The slanted bristles on a contour brush allow you to blend your contour precisely beneath your cheekbones. Don’t know how to use it? Here is a tip: Glide the brush back and forth below your cheekbones to emphasize your natural contours.

5. Powder Brush – What kind of brush is this? The powder brush is used to cover any shiny and greasy area! Just use the brush to pick up a fine line of powder.

REMEMBER to tap off the excess first! Dust over your T-Zone and under eyes.

6. Highlight Fan Brush – A highlighter brush does exactly what it says. When applying the highlighter on your cheekbones, collarbones and nose make use of a highlighter brush. The shape of the brush depends on the level of glow you want.

7. Eyeshadow Blending Brush – After applying the eyeshadow this brush is used to blend out the powders on your eyelids for a smooth finish. These brushes are known for their tapered shape, soft fluffy bristle to help you softly blend your eyeshadows.

8. Pencil Brush – This brush is a LIFESAVER! This is like an all in one brush. A pencil brush helps apply eyeliner, helps to blend beneath your lashes and pushes eyeshadow straight into your lash line! THIS IS A MUST HAVE LADIES!

9. Lip Brush – This is a long, thin pencil-like wand with soft bristles at the end that typically form a tapered point. It is used to apply a lipstick or a lip gloss evenly on to the lips. In most cases, the use of lip brushes is often neglected.

10. Mascara Brush – Is this really necessary? YES, yes, it is. The purpose of this curved mascara wand is to curl the lash and prevent clumps from occurring.

11. Blush Brushes – Well this isn’t science fiction. This brush is used to make your cheeks a little brighter.
